Reece Daniel, Founder / Principal
My name is Reece and I am obsessed with batteries. Most of my career has been spent toiling away in some of the most innovative battery labs in both industry and academia, building and testing novel battery chemistries and working on test equipment. Prior to getting into batteries, I served as a helicopter mechanic/door-gunner in the Marine Corps, where I cultivated my skills as a wrench turner. In my spare time I enjoy building homegrown electric vehicles, promoting scientific literacy, writing, and pretending to know how to play guitar. I currently live in Malden, Massachusetts with my wife, our daughter, and our (2) cats, one of which actually likes us.
Hello! My name is Izzy, and I am originally from Tampa, Florida but I am now a Junior at Tufts University, studying chemical engineering and materials science engineering. After coursework throughout high school, I knew that I loved chemistry and any calculus courses and wanted to pursue a major which combined these subjects. So far, I have really enjoyed the new opportunities, people, and challenges the major has brought me. At Tufts, I am a part of undergraduate research and involved my school's chapter of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AicHe). In my free time I hang out with friends, family, and paint.

John Loftus, Battery Engineering Intern
Hi, my name is John! I'm a battery enthusiast, marathon runner, and amateur musician. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University, I was so fortunate to be able to join Reece at DCG for a summer internship. I was exposed to a wide range of software and hardware technical issues and this experience served as an effective launching pad for my early career, where I've since gone on to join Factorial Energy in developing semi-solid lithium metal batteries. Working in the vibrant culture of Greentown Labs inspired me to put my engineering capabilities toward sustainable technologies, and DCG taught me the key skills I needed to jump headfirst into the battery industry.
In West Philadelphia born and raised, I ran for the mountains of Vermont to study Biology and Chemistry before joining the VA. At the VA I managed national clinical trials and their data for 5 years. But, having always been interested in technology and growing increasingly concerned for our climate, I pivoted to Materials Science and Engineering to study energy storage via Boston University's LEAP program. Before returning to school, my free time was spent playing ultimate frisbee, Kerbal Space Program and Satisfactory, and exploring Boston via its food and drinks. I am currently located in Brighton with my wife and our cat.

Noelia Cura, Battery Engineering Intern
Originally from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, I am now a rising junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute studying chemical engineering with a concentration in environmental engineering. I fell in love with chemistry in high school and always knew I'd like to be an engineering, so I combined the two and decided to major in chemical engineering, which has been great so far. At home I live with my parents, two younger brothers, and our dog, Chico. In my free time I like to skateboard, read, embroider, and make clay sculptures. At school I live with my amazing friends and when we're not studying in the library, we procrastinate our homework by going on spontaneous adventures like canoeing in the Charles River, camping in New Hampshire, and driving around Worcester on our mopeds.
